Off bright and early on Tuesday 8th heading for Sumatra. An excellent 5 hour ferry crossing, didn;t even realise we were in the water! Wish we could have said the same about the next six hours in an series of buses on an arse-breaking road! The scenery was beautiful, when you could get your head out of the roof to see! The walk to the Jungle Inn was in the pitch black (apart from when it was being lit up by lightening very near by) and very wet. but boy was it worth it. We had the honeymoon suite, which was jst amazing. An entrance hall, bedroom, bathroom, toilet room, balcony (with jungle views) and a back door straight out onto a waterfall!

A definite highlight to our trip. we even had an orangutan and her baby join us for breakfast! After a day of doing nothing but watching the world go by we had to days of trekking. The first day we stayed quite near a feeding site and saw loads of Orangutans, not all of them friendly! We had to walk pretty damn quick away from two of them who seemed quite interested in slapping us around a bit! Saw loads of other animals and interesting plants along with quite a few steep slopes!

If one trek wasn't enough we crammed a full two-day trek into the next day. Hard trekking for 10 hours, but well worth it to see deeper into the jungle and to be crowned King and Queen of the jungle from our guides! Really hard work, not only getting here but the walking too, but the most amazing experience and the handmade chips alone made it worthwhile!
