Where I stayed
For us Bali was our final destination for holiday... that's why we were looking forward to getting there.
First surprise, not that pleasant, you have to pay to enter the country, little detail that our travel agent did not mention. 10 Euros per person, ok that's not a lot but still!
After having been through all the security checks, and believe us there are a lot, we managed to get out of the airport, and we started to look for an ATM to get some ruphias and for the shuttle bus supposed to take us to Candidasa our first destination on Bali island.
Other surprise, VISA card are not that welcome in Indonesia! And FYI there is no shuttle bus from Denpasar to Candidasa as it is approx 2hrs far from the airport
Panic a bord !!!
No worries, we managed to find a nice cab driver who took us to our hotel and found us one of the rare ATMs that welcome the VISA.
2hrs later and alive (Indonesian people have their really own way of driving!!!), we reached our hotel: Lumbung Damuh.
No comments on that just look at the pictures: paradise, a little wooden house right on the beach with some really nice people. Frankly, we recommend it to any couple if you are looking for a quiet and romantic place to stay.
Also, you can go snorkeling in the Blue Lagoon, where the little and not that little fishes come to say hi if you bring them some bread.
After three nights in our little paradise, we decided to move to the west coast of the island, destination Kuta Beach.
On the way we stopped in Ubud to see the Monkey Forest!!!
Well known place of the surfers, Kuta is where the tourists usually go in Bali. Completely different from Candidasa, big surfer shops everywhere and a massive white sand beach. We were there during the Kuta Carnival, see the pictures
As we were in Kuta, we took the opportunity to go and see the Tanah Lot temple, famous because it is in the ocean, just look at the pictures, it is unique !!!
Kuta is also famous for its clubs: Paddy's and The Bounty. For our last night we decided to go clubbing!!! And what a night, we met some nice Argentinian footballers...
That was our last night in Bali, the following morning time to pack, a little hang over because of the Bomba the local beverage, and destination SYDNEY !!!!
One last comment, you remember we said that you have to pay to get in the country, good news, you have to pay to get out of it as well !!!
