The first morning was reserved for some museums: the Ethnological museum, in the former palace of Haile Selassie, but now part of the University. After that we went to the National museum that houses a replica of Lucy - the oldest hominid ever found.
Later on we (I was traveling with a Dutch tour group - 12 people in total) went to Entoto. Driving up the mountain we could see many women, sometimes even young girls, carrying wood on their backs.
On the top of the mountain are the Maryam Church and the palace of Emperor Menelik.
The last visit of the day was Merkato. You can buy anything in this market!
Here as well people with incredible loads on their backs! Can you believe this guy?

I was in Addis in March and traveled down to Soddo. I am heading back in a couple of days with 12 others to host a few medical clinics. These pictures are awesome. I am stoked to be heading back!
