Valparaiso is a coastal city, about 100km east of Santiago and is a town built up into the steep hillside.  It's covered in colourful houses of all shapes and sizes, and loads of street art.  There are even lifts to assist people in climbing the steep hills if you're too tired to walk!  Some of these lifts are actually over 100 years old.

On one particular morning, Frew was woken to a loud American voice outside our hostel repeating loudly "Valparaiso, the San Francisco of South America".  You know how it would sound.  Looking outside the window, we noticed Phil Keoghan filming 'The Amazing Race #14'.  Frew tried to stalk them, but was told to go back inside the hostel.  Phil is a kiwi too, you know.
