  Dear Vernae,
Sometimes a fellow just has to stop and rest.  I'd been on the road for countless days and was a bit tired both in the head and in the rear.  :-(    I just needed to settle in to some domestic projects and feel a daily routine again.   Mimi had all the requirements to do just that!  She is selling her home here in Benson and is in the process of doing some necessary work.  She has several people very interested in the place; however, I suggested that she was welcome to use me for some of those jobs.
First thing, I mowed her 2.5 acres of lawn.  I ran one loop and the mower broke!  :-(   My old Chandler/Gilbert experience with lawn mowing came in handy.  The problem was diagnosed and we ordered the part.
My next job was to build a sheet rock cover around some supply/return lines in the living room.  She had recently added some improvements to the existing heating/cooling system.  That was a bigger job than I had imagined, but turned out just fine though!
By the end of the wall job, the mower parts came in and away I went on Mimi's ridding machine!  Just like I had good sense.  It had been twenty five years since I was last on a rider.  I have to say it was fun.   Sometimes, I went in needless circles experiencing feelings of limitless power.
The final job was to learn more jewelry making.  I'm just about able
to do it on my own now.  Will take several more pieces to learn some
handy tricks.  It'll only be about 100 years before I get better than
Mimi but I'll keep trying.
In the mean time, we also found the perfect place for a dish of Liver and Onions!  As some of you know, it's one of my favorite dishes.  Yes, Millie, one of my favorites.  My Mom was fantastic at making a luscious plate of liver and onions. It smelled of high heaven, but who cared.   I have never given up in finding the "better plate" of liver and onions.  And since I am the presiding president of the Sedona LOC(Liver and Onions Club), I must continue my vigilance in seeking the best of the best!
So, I now feel completely domesticated again.  Enough so that I'm ready for the road again!  We'll take one more trip up north to see some friends and I will be leaving on August 8th.
Enjoy the domestic pictures!
Fred

Tinkerbelle on

Hey, Derick,
Didn't you ever hear that dead fish and house guests get pretty smelly after three days? But I guess you're earning your keep with fixing the mower and enclosing those pipes. Good jobs!

Even the Phoenix area had a deluge today. We had a steady, gentle rain. You're missing the best weather!

Hugs to Mimi, and you can have one too.

Tink
