I had a sudden feeling that I must take a ride over to Chimney Rock from Hendersonville. There's a lake there named Lake Lure and a State Park up at Chimney Rock that Mom loved. She especially loved the lake. She was a water bug from the word go and could float like no human being I have ever seen! She would literally float on top of the water! Amazing. I think maybe she was calling me to go over the mountain and show her what has changed.
I sat at her favorite spot and felt her tug at my shirt sleeve like she used to do. Mom died at 42 years young. She was the most alive lady I have ever known. I suppose that is the reason I get very perturbed at people when they say, "I'm bored, let's go kill some time". I don't think Mom ever said that sentence. Time was of the essence. Always. She loved life more than anyone I have ever known.
Today was for you Mom! You saw through my eyes!

What a great place! Spent many a Sunday afternoon at Lake Lure when I was a kid. We probably crossed paths and never knew it - small world!!!
Hey Derick! You have some great scenics in this album, and it was fun to see your video of the falls. Bet you wanted to join those kids!
