Where I stayed
The Mouse House
Dear Nae,
My cousin Chuck, Libby, and I left on Saturday for Little Switzerland, North Carolina. Libby's cousin Nancy lives there in the Summer and Asheville in the Winter. The trip up the Blue Ridge Parkway was nothing less than "Uhhh's" and "Ahhhhh's" and a few "Wow's!". Nancy has a little place on the property that she calls "The Mouse House". The small house was there when they purchased the land. They used it as an interim while building their home. It's a cute, rustic little place that was owned by about 300 mice when they bought it. After renovating it, they decided to call it something that would stick. It did! :-) I had the Mouse House all to myself. It was perfect and I slept like a warm, little mouse inside a comfy blanket.
We became "tourist" in the truest way. Nancy took us to all the local dives and introduced us to Little Switzerland's best spots! Spruce Pine is nearby and has some really great places to eat. I highly recommend the buffet called "Foxfire". It is a classy place and really not that expensive for the excellent food provided! I was very pleased with a belly that popped too far away from my body!
Hope you enjoy the Pictures!
