Dear Nae,
After driving across one of the longest deserts in North America, I am a bit tired of brown!  I awoke early, had a great breakfast, and was off with the Green Machine.  After just a few minutes, I was finally treated to some beautiful scenery!  It was only 50 miles after Sonora that the land began to change.  What a marvel!!!  I can now say that S/E Texas is beautiful!  The landscape turned to gracious, rolling hills with REAL TREES! (Bet the dogs were relieved)
There was a point that It took my breath away.  It was between Big Joshua Creek and Little Joshua Creek.  There was a hill in between that proudly displayed a small ranch.  It was the picture of what Texas is all about.  I would have been proud to hang my hat there!  My, what a great place with neat, white fencing all around.  I was driving their "80 MPH" speed limit and could not stop without killing myself and others; otherwise, I would have shown you!
The pictures of a small picnic area just past there is indication of what it looked like!  Don't ya love the "Don't Mess With Texas" signs on the garbage cans there???  Little play on words...

I drove though San Antonio with some heavy prayer going on!  Buzzzzy town!  I did a big "AMEN" and "AWOMEN" after getting though the city. The KOA was on the East side.   What a beautiful KOA!!!!
Highly recommend the place.  Went swimming and played it cool in the pool!  Afterward, I caught a bus Downtown and checked out the Alamo.  Beautiful spot right in the middle of town.  The Alamo was a historic moment in our history.  Davie Crockett and James Bowie died there defending Texas from Santa Anna from Mexico.  Texas was a state of Mexico until the elite decided to resend the right of a republic..  Texas told Mexico to take a hike.  Santa Anna then attacked the Alamo.  All were lost on the Texas side.  Great names too.  Most don't know that less than a month later General Sam Huston attacked Santa Anna wiping his army out and taking him prisoner.  This was when Huston led the charge yelling "Remember the Alamo!" (That's your history lesson for today kids)  The pictures tell it all.
Getting sleepy.  Going back to town tomorrow to see the River Walk!  Adding pictures soon
Sleep Tight!
Fred

PS. That's right, I rode all the way to South America and BACK again yesterday!  Hey, what can I say, Honda's are real  fast...
