This is the last couple of days of us in Melbourne, givin up the jobs, the apartment, the city, packing the bags baggage and baggery and flaking off to New Zealand for 5 weeks. Headin Sunday, the boys back on the road being proper travellers again...

So i mgiht aswell write about whats gone on over the last month or so in Victoria slash Melbourne slash Elwood slash St Kilda slash the great ocean road....

The first thing is the F1 Grand prix, Gray moved down to help Griff build it and it was some event, Noise, Cars Flying by us at 230 MPH, F1 girls and a rake of sunshine... Me and Tommy got tickets by pure luck almost half price for the Fangio stand on the main straight right infront of the pits witha food and drink voucher thrown in from a fella who won it in a competition who "wasnt a rev head"...He could have sold em for double the price... It was a good weekend around 200,000 at it over the weekend.

Then my sisters Jackie and Steph arrived out here for a 3 week holliday, some craic, so we had to organise stuff to do:

The first night a gang of us went to the Roof top cinema in swanston st to watch Cidade de Deus, its about the favelas in Rio brazil. The cinema is class, its on the roof of a tall building in the middle of the city and its surrounded by skyscrapers all lit up in diffferent colours, brilliant atmosphere...

That weekend myself, tommy, sue, gray, griff, jackie, steph, frances and chris all headed down the great ocean road to stay at chris' parents holliday house on view road near Arieys just right beside the huge sign that marks the start of the great ocean road. This house was amazing, up on a hill overlooking the pacific ocean with the entire external walls of the upstairs made of glass... The sat we all drove the great ocean road, saw the koalas on grey river rd, the small rainforest at Otway National Park, and the 12 apostles. Def worth a look. That night we had a BBQ and a sesiun! Thanks Frances and Chris! On the way back we stopped in the Angelsea golf course to have a look at the kangaroos, the course is overrun with em, there was about 12 of em lazing about the one Tee Box we went to..First time seeing a skippy!

We went out a good few nights as well, The next weekend we had a BBQ in our house and the same gang from the great ocean rd were there and Lisa, Sharon, Marie and her friend Sarah called up along with Russell and we headed out after down chapel st

On the sunday Chris took us to and Aussie rules match to watch his team Richmond play carlton at the MCG. Good match and great atmosphere but Richmond lost. Setanta was playin for carlton and he played well. Afterwards we went to the famous music venue the Corner Hotel in Richmond...

Midweek the sisters headed of to sydney for sightseeing...

Then Fitzy landed down jst before Easter after finishing up work in Sydney, workin boots and tools left in the boys gaff in Bondi.

On Holy Thursday the comedy festival started and few of us went to see Ardal o Hanlon in the town hall he was very good, really funny at the start but because it was a festival he only got to be on for an hour.. We went out on the town that night for Jackie and Stephs last proper night around.

Good Friday me the sisters fran n Chris went to watch the sunset at Brighton Beach and then headed to a hungarian restraunt in Elsternwick...

So on Saturday Frances and Chris drove us to the airport and we said our goodbyes.. booo hooo... Hate sayin goodbye in airports...

Now we are getting the flat sorted  and gettin ready to move on. Unfortunately ive had to give up the Job, it was class place to work but thats the way and New Zealand should be great. We are all mad to hit the road again anyway.

Melbourne was def the place to live for the few months, loads on, every event you can imagine, great relaxed atmosphere, loads of music, comedy, sports, film, restraunts, good weather, nice apartment, lisa and the crew down the road, frances and chris up the road, work over the road and the tram across the road!

Ill miss it, but first one last hurrah in the city for the Damien Dempsey gig on friday night..

Bring on the Kiwis!
