What I did
After the long 14 hour train ride from Bucharest to Sofia, I finally arrived. It was not what i expected at all. The city is not very big. It doesn't have skyscrapers. It is not really run down, but also not nice. Usually capital cities have people everywhere, but not here. I stayed at Hostel Mostel and they gave me a map of the city. The city literally had 3 main attractions. It has a courthouse, a square and the Nevsky cathedral. I have also seen the Nevsky cathedral in Tallinn. Maybe I should look up who this guy is. The cathedral was the highlight of Sofia to me. Particularly the inside of the cathedral. There were no pulpits or chairs there and it was very open. They had some giant chandeliers inside it with a lot of old style paintings. It was almost like a half mosque style and half church. We are getting a bit closer to the middle east and the people are no longer white here. They are turning a bit more Arabic looking. It was a short stay in Sofia, but there is not really much time needed here. There are many nice things to see out of the city, but I will have to do that another day.
