Amanda didn't sleep at all last night because it was so hot. We woke up at 230 AM for a bus to Guatemala City and then on to Lake Aititlan. It was supposed to be an hour from Guatemala City, but ended up being four hours, so we arrived around 1 PM and found out that we could not reach Tikal from this city, so we had to turn all the way around. The roads to Lake Atitlan were horrible. I mean it was bad. The bus was not nice either. Lake Atitlan was interesting. It was one giant market and the people really have their own culture. Everything they wear was made by them and everything they sell was made by them, so it was not a town where anything was imported and they showed a cool side that I haven't got to see on this trip. The girls in this town were a little on the heavier side. The only thing that I did not like was when me and Amanda went to a restaurant and ordered french fries. We ordered something simple because we had to leave soon. Three people came in after us and got their food before we did, so we just got up and left. They had full meals too. It wasn't anything simple. We stuck out like a sore thumb in this town. It was still dirty in this area of Guatemala. I don't know if anything is clean around here. There is garbage everywhere. I don't know what people in Guatemala do all day. I mean we would drive through the country and pass people that would just stare at the bus. I get the picture that they just sit and stare all day. We took the bus back to Guatemala City and had four hours until our next bus left overnight for Flores, Guatemala. We went to Burger King and walked around the markets. They had ten year old kids selling porn at these markets. I felt a girl bump into me and I turned around and she kind of walked away. I grabbed my bag and it was unzipped, so I followed the girl and she knew I caught her. She didn't take anything, but she was kind of scared and trying to flee from me. We got on the bus and slept the whole way to Flores.
