Day 1
Woke at 3 a.m. and despite having had 4 hours sleep the body was 100% certain it was time to get up, there was no telling it anything else, it was adamant that it was time to get up out of bed. Of course everyone else including Mary was fast asleep, so reading was all I could do. A few hours of reading, tossing and turning and turning and trying to sleep I heard the welcome sound of human activity and could get up
Dave and Lou had normal business to see to so after breakfast we decided to get some air and explore the local forrest trails. Already starting to get that great million miles away feeling.
Dave got back at linch time and he took us on a tour of Burlington and the lower end of Lake Ontario across the Queen Elizabeth Highway Bridge, into the steel town of Hamilton, up on to the Niagara escarpment. We walked a few trails before returning to his home.
We had a great evening meal with Dave and Lou.
