On Thursday we went shopping. Thomas needed a pillow and a blanket and we both bought some notebooks and school supplies. As you see that's how Thomas carried his things home - the bike-airbag ;-)!
For dinner we made Schnitzel and Bratkartoffeln (sliced baked potatoes) and vegetables for Thomas's two roommates. They really liked it afterwards we had Caipirinhas (because they didn't know about this cocktail) and did some "workout". Who can do skipping (Seilhüpfen) the longest. It was really funny.

On Friday we had a mandatory international student meeting. There are about 90 international students who start studying at CalPoly this Quarter. Most of them are only staying for one or two quarters. There are many from Sweden, Danemark, France, Finnland, Asia and of course Germany (the most: 20).
We were told what we can/have to/should do. From 9am to 1pm were were told important information about everything. Afterwards there was a BBQ (barbeque) for everyone. You could get veggie burger and of course regular burgers. It was really nice because you talked to a lot of different people from different cultures.
In the evening I packed my stuff because on Septemebr 15th I could move to my room at Valencia apartments and cleaned the bathroom and the room I stayed. And I read a little bit in Harry Potter 7 but I'm still not done with it - there's not ime to read fun stuff at the moment.

So on Saturday Thomas landlord Mark drove to Valencia apartments at 10 and I got all my stuff in my new room. It's quite nice and I think it's a good choice to stay. Most of the international students are staying at Valencia. There are apartments with three bedrooms and 1 and a half bathrooms. So when you come in there's a kind of living room and the kitchen you all share. Then there's one bedroom (9x9 ft²) and the half bathroom with one sink and a toilett. upstairs there is at first another 9x9 ft² bedroom and  the bathroom with two sinks, shower and another toilet. At last there is the big room (12x9 ft²) where I'm in. Looking out of my windows I can look at the pool. There are some pictures of my room:

When I came on Saturday morning my two roommates weren't there yet. I was excited to meet them. After unpacking and seeing what is missing. Three other German students from Munich (They already had a car.) and I went shopping. So we bought hangers (for the wardrobe) and a trash can as well as groceries. When we came back my roommates where unpacking and I met them: There's Melinda (Mel) who's a Junior but is new at CalPoly as well because she transfered but she knows a lot of people here. She's from Orange county and just turned 20 in mid August. Both my roommates are animal science majors and really into horses. The other roommate is Maggie - she's also 20 years old and a Sophomore and her home is about 2 hours away. The brought a lot more stuff than I did but that is perfect because I can use all their kitchen stuff. I got a kitchen and towel, bed package from valencia but of course there are still things missing. I'm really happy I took my blanket and pillow with me.
My roommates and I are really a good match. We all like to cook and are not the ones who only want to party. I think we will get allong pretty well.
Tonight (Saturday) there was the first Home-football game of the season, so went there but when we came it was already full on the student side of the stadium even I guess 500 students or even more where still waiting to get in. We kind of sneeked into the non-student site. (As a student with your CalPoly card you can go in for free. But because we were really hungry and the games are more a social event we left after the first quarter and went to place where you could get burgers. My second one on this day but it was really good.  I went home at around 9.30 while the others went out to party/ went to bars.
