I haven't posted anything for a while so I want to try to tell you what I was up to the last days. Finding a place to stay here in San Luis Obispo is more difficult than we thought of. We (Thomas and I) both looked at some places. There was one room we looked at on Saturday for Thomas we really liked. It was a nice unfurnished room in a really new looking house in the Laguna Lake area. We met with the owner of the house and he was really nice but after leaving we are, of course, not sure if he gets the room because there were about 10 more people looking at it. I was looking at an apartment at Valencia to rent from a girl who has to leave because of family issues and I look at a place of a Spanish Professor at CalPoly. The room from the professor was nice and furnished and with my own bathroom but she's really particular in who to rent it to because she doesn't like to have company so I mainly would have to stay in the room and couldn't have any people over but I could use her kitchen. So she was really nice but it's not the place I really like to stay. ... But better than nothing! We really got frustrated writing too so many people or calling them and receiving mostly no answer at all.
The rent here in SLO is amazingly high. It really got bad this year with housing because CalPoly accepted 1800 more Freshmen then the last years. The prices for housing to expect are between $600 to $700 plus around $50 to $100 utilities. So the people who have something to rent can be really picky.
We can staye at the hostellady's place until sunday (today 9/9/07) then we have to move to
hostel because the person she's renting the room to is moving in.
But then luckily Thomas is the one you finds a room - the nice room we looked at. Mark the owner of the house  choose him to have the room. Only the furniture is missing but .... thanks to Elaine the hostellady he gets a bed and two matresses (one for me if I need it) and a chair. So he's ready to move in tomorrow and I'm allowed to stay there as well for the next 3 to 4 days. That's really nice so I don't have to stay at the hostel.
Unfortunately I didn't get the Valencia room from the girl moving out and I'm getting really hopeless to finding a place and really frustrated because all my options are falling apart. My problem was also that I'm only staying until March and not the whole school year till mid of June. I really hope to find at least something to stay - writing again a lot of mails but no answers ....
