Aconcagua is the highest peak in the Americas, measuring at 6962m above sea level. Even though we didnīt climb it, hiking at its base proved difficult due to the high elevation there (3300m) This 3 day hike got top honours for the most expensive hike our trip.
The views made up for the high price (and the lack of facilities of any kind).
TRIP HIGHLIGHT: Camping next to a scrap pile in a parking lot at the entrance of the park.
