The cities are Galway and Cork. We stopped in Galway en route to Cork. After a visit to Charlie Byrne's Bookshop and to a couple of music shops, we had lunch at the Artisan Cafe. It was supposed to have been a light lunch but three hours later as we approached Cork city, our bellies were still full. The problem with that was that Robyn had booked us in to Cafe Paradiso in Cork, a reputedly top-class vegetarian restaurant for 6pm.
By the time we had walked around Cork centre for an hour, we were "hungry" ...ish.
The restaurant food turned out to be excellent. Tara found disconcerting the lack of the usual items on the menu. But she settled for a risotto which she enjoyed. I had a lentil chard dish and Robyn had a grilled aubergine and a carrot and almond timbale.
Tara had a (more familiar) brownie and ice cream for dessert and Robyn and I shared a great pavlova.
