Élément d'analyse: Anglophones view of Francophones
Description de l'évènement: Last Tuesday night, as quite often, I was in the lounge eating my supper and watching TV and Akshay, the owner of my residence house, asked me if I wanted to go to The Capital. He explained me that it was a very nice bar where there's always great music and lovely people so I told him I didn't know but finally, I accepted. So I went to the bar with Akshay and Mika and I must say that I enjoyed the night. This is an open bar for any artist who wants to play there and there were guitars available for all so I wrote my name on the list and I played with one of these Norwegian wood from The Beatles for all drunk people in the bar. It has been very funny because nobody really listened to me but, I had a good time and then, some Francophones came up on the stage and tried to speak in French but everyone in the bar shouted ''Bouuuuuuuuuuu!'' and Down the stage!''. I been surprised and then Akshay told me that there're some Francophones in Fredericton but they are a minority and people of Fredericton would prefer that Francophones try to speak in English, mostly in a bar where there's a lot of people.
Constat/Réflexion: I realized after that night that there're Francophones and Anglophones in Fredericton. However, there's a lot more Anglophones and Francophones represent a minority. French speakers are sometimes frowned by English speakers because these ones are most of the time in a total anglophone environment with their family and friends and when they hear French speakers it doesn't look normal for them to hear French. Anglophones seem to prefer their own language because they just don't understand French or verry little of it. Even when I go to the skatepark, there're sometimes French speakers and English speakers always say stop speaking French! Main reason is because they consider French as inferior to English and that's the truth, for most of them.
Finally, on that picture, we can see the Capital stage where I sang and we can also see someone who was probably singing a song too. However, I think that it was his own guitar because I sang with a poorer one but anyway, I really had a good time. Akshay took a picture of me on stage but he haven't send me the picture yet. I'll try to put it on Travelpod soon...
