Say it with me now: "Co-ah-teh-PEH-kay." Got it? Good! Now say it ten times fast...
On the bus, our fearless friend, who refused to stick his nose into a guide book unless someone held a gun to his head, asked the bus driver to take us somewhere on the lake (lago means lake, FYI) that had camping. Still with my nose in my guide book (it would take a gun to get it out), I spit a bunch of options out that I thought were feasible (well they were published, weren't they?) but Miguel only trusted the driver. And for that, I give him ten points. We landed at an awesome place, which only cost $4 a night. Check out the photos!
The remainder of our day after arriving, we spent swimming, reading, and talking. We headed out for dinner, then grabbed some beers and headed back to the dock where we were set up to sleep. We talked until the sun retired and the stars arrived, long after the boats had finished their excursions and local restaurants closed their parties. Then Benn and I left Miguel sleeping to swim in the dark water, which resulted in such fun as throwing sand at each other (it stayed in my dreads for weeks) and rubbing seaweed on one another (gave me a rash that lasted three days). Good fun! Haha...
The next morning, I put on my puppy face and begged Benn to allow us to stay another day, but as his schedule was undoubtedly more strict than mine, he won that battle, and we headed off, leaving Miguel, whom we promised to meet after a few days in our next destination, Suchitoto.
