Where I stayed
Had been speaking to someone here in KL by email and had got us booked onto a four day personal training sort of thingy with a muay thai gym here in KL before we had arrived and today was the first day,
Had found somewhere, cheaper, cleaner and with working facilities just outside the market area last night so moved this morning
Made our way to the gym and met the thai trainer and the Malaysian owner and pretty much got straight to it.
Two and a half hours every day for four days,and today we managed two and a quarter hours, i didn't feel tooooo bad just a bit tight in the legs really but I think Claire was pretty whacked though she did it all,
Bouncing on a tyre for ten minutes which might not sound like much but its pretty uncomfortable - for balance and calf/ leg muscles,
After that is ten minutes skipping - again not quite as easy to do as it to say,
Then shadow boxing,
Then hands wrapped up and taken through some of the moves, at first just basic stance, punches and kicks.
Time spent practising on the bag them its gloves on and into the ring, the trainer with pads puts you through it, then your shown some elbow blows, knee strikes and on it goes.
Then the last half an hour is fitness, push ups, sit ups - with a smack to the stomach between every one with one of the pads [ that hurts] then leg raises, through the blocking stances and then stretching out..... Pheww...
Pretty good fun, loved it. Although Claire did come out with bruised feet and a bruised shin bone from kicking the pads..ouch!!
Later on found a proper nice little restaurant serving far better food than just off the street and just a few ringgit more, proper good food, lemon chicken rice, sweet sour rice and black pepper noodle, happy with that!
