Day 187;
This morning we got a little lay in, then the alarm clock woke up and came in to see us!
Then of course it was the ritual of card opening all sat on one bed, luckily Lucy and kathryn had brought cards out with them otherwise it would have been a pretty poor birthday morning, I felt a bit bad really, I hadn't got Claire anything and its not like I could really buy her presents whilst we are here, but it was her 25th so that's what made it worse. I had been planning to book us all into this really plush place on Sanyo for the day but she had gotten wind of it and told me not too!!!boo!! I think she was just happy to have Lucy there really, that was all that mattered and in the end it didn't turn out too bad a day.
After that was breakfast, then I think we spent a lot of the day on the beach or in the sea, lunch came quickly and late in the afternoon I got the opportunity I was waiting for, kathryn and me went down with the bloke from our place to sort out our boat ticket for the next day - along the way he was taking the mickey out of kat about the insects and geckos and spiders in her room, we said that we don't have anything like it in our country - trying to explain why we are wimps - although to be fair even the bloke who had to de spider kats room went and got a bottle cut in half to trap it in!! And they live there, you'd think they'd be used to them, anyway he laughed , sat thinking for a minute, then came out - you no have ladyboy in England too??? Plain faced, then laughing his ass off - made us chuckle anyway.
So we got back and were able to sneak out, took the push bikes he let's guests use for free and off we went in search of cake!! The heavens opened, properly, for the first time since we had been there, so we were riding around in the monsoon rain, funny, for me, don't think kathryn will forget that in a hurry, we rode up and down the complete length of the town there, could hardly see where we were going. Brilliant!
Kat managed to fall off the bike as well, on the pavement luckily, outside a shop and jammed her fingers into the wall, shouldn't laugh but it was funny, some old bloke kind of wandered out if the shop, stood looking at her for a minute then wandered off again, thanks!! Found cake in the end, chocolate and a banana cake, got back and just about managed to pull off a surprise, chocolate cake and a candle and happy birthday of course.
Dinner - can't remember if we all had curry that night?? After that was a nice end to the day, we did two lanterns off the beach, they worked great and the rain had stopped , never done them before and Claire was pretty happy I think, finished off the beers and peanuts left from the night before, beers and bed.
