Everybody was already getting excited about the party tonight from the minute we woke up, most of the day was split between time on the beach and around the pool, firstly Claire, Lucy hallie n me spent an hour or so on the beach, me n hallie sat in the sea for all of that hour trying to wait for a fish to swim into the bucket we had tried to disguise with seaweed and sand - it didn't work, we also filled the bucket with sloppy sand, and we had a sand fight!! Then they left and I stayed enjoying the beach, kathryn and lauren came down not long after so we sat, enjoyed the sun and sitting in the sea which was crystal clear, though very shallow for a long way and live coral just a few metres off from the beach so not perfect for swimming but just right for floating around in. They left to use the internet and I went for a wander along the beach, which was another stunningly beautiful bay as I said with beautiful water and soft yellow sand, rocky headlands at either end of the bay - almost the picture perfect beach, almost one of the nicest we've been too, almost!!!
Sat on the rocks at one end, had a fag then wandered back for more lasting around in the Sun, after sufficient sweating I went back to see how it all was - they'd had a good time by the pool, hallie swimming around and jumping in and out, loving it all - Claire and Lucy had got even more burnt, haha!!
We stopped a songthaew out on the road and by half six we were making our way to haad rin - the full moon party!! The ride there was just as much fun as any we have done, winding roads up the hillsides gave great views of the road and the sea behind, gave every body a few scares too, along with laughs.
So we turned up, checked out the beach - just follow the noise, luckily that early there weren't so many people around, we got ourselves some dinner and let the partying get started!!!
Dinner was followed by ultraviolet body painting for hallie and lauren by the professionals - what good party doesn't include uv paint ???? Hallie got a cat on her arm, lauren got the name of the resort and beach where we were staying painted on her arm - just incase, smart thinking lauren,she was already on her second bucket by that point!! then lauren also got some whiskers painted on her face - joining hallie and kats team, who this holiday has become a cat - meowing lots and lots and kat because she is a cat.
Then kathryn managed to get hold of some pots of her own paint and then it all went wrong - kathryn painted claire, Claire painted kat, kat painted hallie, hallie painted kat, then Lucy, and I think everybody painted lauren a little.
Paint followed by fire juggling, two big areas by two bars with all kinds of fire juggling, twirling, throwing and the rest, hallie loved it, and can't lie so did all the adults, then something caught kathryns eye - the fire rope, two men on podiums, maybe ten metres apart with a very big long skipping rope....which is alight. They swing the rope between them like a skipping rope, people huddle round and when they feel brave/stupid enough , in they go, one at a time, two at a time three at a time.
Kathryn tried her best to convince me it would be an absolutely amazing idea for us to do it, that I had to, we couldn't not - luckily I was not drunk!!
Well she ended up doing it and I did tell her not to but what can ya do!! And she did end up with a burn on her back - but she also say she did it! All the full moon fun!!
Lauren went off to the toilet, came back with a random hat from somewhere, and told us she had been a little sick, but it was ok, she had buried it - that made everyone laugh a bit!
Everybody minus Lucy and hallie were getting there so the time was ready for the raving - not quite sure who got the award for raving raver, its a close call between hallie and lauren - lauren because she was the most consistent, dancing the entire length of the beach, up and down from the minute we got there, hallie because she was basically leading the rave - she even developed a new dance for the night, the cat dance, which came out of no where and had us in fits all night long. She also got a lot of attention from everyone, little scary possibly but she seemed to love it the whole time we were there, I think the hype got to her because she went a little nuts!! It was a really good fun, us three and hallie disappeared before it all went completely crazy, kat and lauren had planned to leave with us but did there own disappearing act, unfortunately had to leave without!!!
So it was back home and to bed, we are officially old!
