Five thirty rise and shine for us, on the road at just after six, down to the pier, back to Surat thani on the catamaran, once off, all loaded onto buses for different destinations and a short ride later we had to get off, wait around for nearly an hour before another bus turned up for us, all piled onto that one, bit of a bloody shambles really, the whole thing, there wasn't even enough room for all the luggage so the aisle on the bus was full of bags, you'd think they would have it all sorted but they don't, they don't have a clue, they way they run it is shocking. Absolutely crap. Hope I never go on any tourist bus or boat in Thailand ever again.
Anyway, on the bus, a few hours later we were on the western side of southern Thailand, krabi from there was more frustrating transfers and waiting around until finally got crammed onto a boat, uncomfortable one a half hours and i think it was gone five by the time we got there, nearer six maybe, can't remember but the sun was starting to set anyway. It was a horrible day and in the end we didn't even stay on koh Phi Phi, we ended up getting a two your longtail boat from Phi Phi to koh Lanta, further south, it was probably the saving grace of the day, we had the small boat to ourselves and the last forty five minutes was in the dark, with the stars, definitely the only bit we want to remember about the day, they got us into a small landing and some guy was waiting for us, took us to his travel shop arranged a place for us and within minutes a truck was there to pick us up, we arrived and we were all very happy, the place was lush, right on the beach, with a pool, great rooms and at last we could relax, a long day, a dinner and a quick night swim in the pool before bed.....
