Day; 131

After an early start we was on our way to Vietnam, of course we ended up on another pooper of a bus, and to add insult to injury we got the villiage idiots sat behind us, hands all over our seats so every time we moved we felt another hand not belonging to us, this includes pulling my hair by accedent I'm sure but it still hurt, also got hit in the head as one idiot decided I didn't want my window open, thanks!

Got to the Nong Het/Nam Can boarder handed over the passports onces got signed out of Lao got back on bus for the twenty meter ride to the Vietnam boarder handed passports over again got signed into Vietnam back on the bus and of we go, simple a we so thought it was going to be a pain in the butt!

Glad to report now that we have left Laos, didn't want to speak too soon, but we didn't encounter any banditry!!! There's 3 whole sections warning about it in the book, plus the trip we took by road between Luang Prabang and Phonsavan on route 7, well, here's the opening statement in that part -
"Faced with the prospect of a long, and potentially dangerous road trip via routes 7,1 & 6, many visitors opt for a flight"
Woops, maybe that's why there was only a handful of people on the bus, none of them white!!!
That said, lots of people must do it, sure its not as bad as its made out, occasional attacks - but how mad is that...Bandits!!!!

We believed it was an 8 hour ish journey and it turned into a 13 hours and it seriously felt like it, numb bums and hungry bellys, we weren't alone another English couple and a couple of boys from Denmark, we all headed of from the bus together walked around found a hotel decided it wasn't quite cheap enough so walked around a bit more then as per usual the first one was the cheapest so all settled into our rooms the headed out for dinner on the pavement, interesting food not a lot of choOice and nothing vegetarian, decided to go to the bakery and got donuts, cake and crisps for my dinner, Yum Yum.
