After trying last night to get last minute souvenirs from St. Lary and failing because all the shops were closed, we went out to buy them this morning. We wandered in and out of a few shops and we each got what we needed (a few souvenirs for us but mostly gifts for other people). Then we headed back to A.B's had a quick bight to eat and got in the car. When we finally got back to Biarritz A.B ran inside the house (to watch the Tour De France, which she follows religiously) and we sat outside and went online. Although it seemed to be a good beach day we were all very achy from the Foret Suspendue yesterday.
Later, A.B came out of the house and said she was heading to the Beach. We stayed behind. Our plan for last night was to go to a fete, which is basically like a big festival that many towns have during the summer. When A.B came back she had the schedule for the fete (it last three or four days) and suggested that tomorrow night (Sunday night) might be a more fun time to go. So we decided that we would stay in Biarritz tonight and go to the fete with A.B tomorrow, then sleepover at A.B's place in Urt and return to Biarritz Monday morning to do our last minute shopping and cleaning.
A.B left and the four of us caught the bus into town. The sun was just setting over the Atlantic when we got there so we stood by the beach for a while. I looked at the awesome tidal pools created by the rocks and the low tide. Then we walked up the hill to the main drag in town, grabbing a quick bite to eat. We sat in the town center, outside a bar called The Queen's Bar, where people were doing karaoke. There are circles of light all up and down the street and so for a while I got to play with the light settings on my camera and take some weird photos of everyone. After a while we walked up on of the streets leading of the main square, just to explore a little more. Although most things were closed, we saw some stores we'd like to return to on Monday. Then we sat by the beach again (which seems to be a favorite hang out for the young people around here) before catching a bus at about 11:45 back home. We watched an episode of Glee and went to sleep. :)
