Today (Wednesday), i awoke at 8:30 and was unable to sleep any later. I spent a few hours reading and going online before the others woke up around 11. Although we had planned to go into town the horrible, rainy weather prevented us from wanting to go out at all. We called A.B. and told her we were ready to go to St. Lary as soon as she was. About an hour later, we were on our way. We stopped in Tarbes along the way so A.B, who was a world champion skier when she was younger, could have an interview/meeting with a reporter. Finally, after about a three hour drive, we arrived in St. Lary, an adorable little town nestled in the Pyrenees. The first level of the house serves mainly as a lobby, just a room with stqirs leqding to the rest of the house. On the first landing, a door lead us to an apartment and we were immediately greeted by A.B's mom, an adorably small woman who doesn't speak a word of English. We were shown the rest of the house which is basically three apartments. Dinner consisted of amazing tomato soup, pasta, roasted chicken and salad. After dinner, the four of us went for a walk through town. The streets were lit up and filled with people selling all sorts of trinkets and food. We bought some stuff and on our return trip we all got Nutella crepes, which were delicious! :)
Unfortunately, i have no way to upload photos while we are here in St. Lary but i will post them as soon as we get back to Biarritz. For now try to imagine the fog covered, lush green mountains!
