Tonight we went into Ajijic with John to meet his brother and his wife (Eloy / Ginger) for dinner at Tango Restaurant, supposedly the best steak restaurant in Ajijic.   Unfortunately just as we were leaving Deb came down with an upset stomach - so she chose to stay at home for this evening.

The restaurant located just south of the Cararterra on Morelos #5 was great.   We ordered Spinach fritters to start along with two great margaritta's (not as large as Viva Mexico) and they were great. John suggested that I order the FLAT STEAK, with the meat coming from Argentina, it's apparently a cut about the local mexican beef.

Dinner was great and for dessert we had the "flan" - a local custard that was great.   While we were having dinner, Ginger saw a couple that she knew and they invited us over to their casa for tequila after dinner.

This casa, was amazing.  From the street, you would have thought nothing.  Beyond the doors from the street, it led into an amazing museum.  This couple originated from Switzerland and the UK and both Jean-Francois and his wife have lived here in Ajijic for about 12 years.   This was truly a casa beyond belief and in true mexican style.   This casa covered virtually the entire block and was about 75 feet wide running between the two east west streets in downtown Ajijic.   Meeting us at the front door was Hector the family Afgan.  I've attached some photographs of their home, but honestly they will not do it any justice.  This place was simply incredible and was purchased 12 years ago for $280,000 US.

To Deborah, I hope you feel better my sweet.

Stay tuned for our next restaurant review as we're back out again tomorrow night.

We hope Deb is feeling better.

We need an org chart to keep track of all your new friends. Where do Larry, Daryl & Daryl fit in again? You do know there is a community where you would get that kind of social activity in Canada. It even has a friendship centre and is called Sioux Lookout, Ontario with a low cost of living and also has a horse wandering the street.
