We reluctantly left our 'slice of paradise' this morning, and headed for the bigger city of Fort Lauderdale. Not to see the city as such, but to find a 'clean up' campsite. Tomorrow our truck goes back. Yep our 3 months is up, and let's just say that we had got more than comfortable in this short time, and had certainly made it our home. So ... the clean up and packing process was NOT a 5 minute job! In fact, we'd already started to pack in the last couple of days, but that was only the start.
Our last purchase at Walmart, had been a 3 piece luggage set (duffel bag type thing), just to try and cope with the extra bits & pieces we had accumulated. And we needed them! So, anyway, here we are at our campsite - great big concrete pad sites - the inside of the campervan is stripped of its contents (ready for cleaning) and everything we own is outside, including all the bags lined up, and me trying to figure out how to get everything in. It was a sight for sure, and I can't only imagine what the neighbours were thinking.
As the day ends, we're obviously losing light, and I'm starting to panic slightly and at all the 'piles' still outside. Our last bit of groceries, we put into a box and left in the laundry with a note for others to help themselves. Gary & the kids had done a great job of cleaning, and by 8.00pm we were eating left over roast dinner, reminiscing about our holiday of a lifetime, and contemplating what on earth we were going to do with all that luggage!
