Certainly a little tired after yesterday, so we started slower. About lunchtime we decided to drive down the coast and see where it lead us. Very glad we did. We ended up at Laguna Beach, (I'm trying to compare it with an up-market Mt Maunganui, but not convinced that's the best comparison), but never-the-less, a definite pearl in the oyster.
It was very quiet the day we went, but I could imagine it being very busy and bustling in the height of the summer holidays. The kids played on the beach, built sandcastles, climbed the frames of the childrens park, and we all ate the most 'melt-in-your-mouth- gelato icecreams. Some of the best gelato I've ever tasted.
You wouldn't know you were anywhere near LA city...
A perfect little day.
