Mickey, Minnie, Goofy & friends.

There's no way to avoid it.

One has to do the obligatory Disney visit, after all, this is the promise that started our 3 month 'meals on wheels'.

After negotiating the carpark (everything in America is big), we parked, caught the 'in-house' tram, and presented our tickets at the gate (all USD800 worth for 2 days!)  Had a full day, but started as soon as it opened and managed to see everything in one day!  This includes Adventureland with Jungle Cruise (no queue), Indiana Jones (Brad too short for this one), Pirates of the Caribbean, Disneyland railroad, Big Thunder Mountain railroad (Tara crying on this one), Splash Mountain, and Mickeys Toon Town.

At this point I would like to say - pack a lunch!   We'd bought some snacks, but as we hadn't had time to do a grocery shop, our lunch was somewhat limited, and anything we purchased was over priced and under-delivered.

We carried on into Fantasyland (heaven for the tots and Tara), where we hit Circus Train, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Mattahorn Bob sleds, Mr Toads wide slide, Pinocchios Daring Adventures and Story Book Land Canel Boats ..... all finished off with a whirl on the carousel.

By this time, exhausted, (but pleased it was Sept 11th making it one of the quietest days), we perserved onto Tomorrowland, where we all got behind the wheel at Autopia,  experienced life as an 'ant' at Honey I Shrunk the Kids 3D, and had the boys had some first hand experience as life as a Jedi (note photos).      Next the brave kids (including Greta & Brad - and NOT me and Tara), braved the Space Mountain roller coaster - basically something very fast in the dark .....   from my point of view - been there, done that, no need to do it again.

Finished up the day in a submarine finding Nemo.   My take on that is ... well..... to be truthful, fell asleep, completely missed Nemo, but heard it was great.   Woke up in time to catch the 7.00pm parade down the Main Street - there's only one word for it - magical.   There is nothing we can put into words to describe this, but let me try....
*dreamy
*well cheorographed
*convincing
*child-like
*inspirational
*fantastical

in the end ... nothing beats experiencing it!

After our VERY long day, we arrived back at our campervan (in the Disneyland carpark), and the couple in the campervan next to us were also returning.   They were from Australia.  It so happened that they had just completed their own 3 month tour of the U.S. and were going back home the next day.  They had acquired things on their trip that they were unable to take back with them easily ie: electric frypan, kettle, blankets, TV/DVD player etc  - they happily passed it onto us.   THANK YOU SO MUCH!
