The Guam MSFN station was opened in 1966 to support the Apollo Program.
The station had a 30 foot (9 meter) USB antenna, and also had capabilities for VHF Air-Ground Voice and Telemetry. Guam was the first dedicated Apollo station to be built and was intended primarily for near-earth and TLI operations.
