Christiania is an 85-acre, 900-resident commune in the center of Copenhagen. One corner has shops and is a popular tourist destination. All of it is open to the public to walk through, except people's houses of course. No photographs are allowed on the most vibrant street because they sell marijuana in the open on that street, so I can't show you that. But here are pictures of other parts.

This place is a shit hole full of drugged out lazy welfare recipients who have little respect for the realities of society or those who choose to live and work in a respectable way. This place should be bulldozed as soon as possible with the illegal squatters being sent out to clean the dirty streets of Copenhagen with the others sent back to the countries they have come from. We went there to enjoy a nice sunny day to buy some souvenirs and was harassed, abused and threatened. An absolute disgrace to the Danes and the country of Denmark. I advise tourists thinking of visiting this place to spend their time elsewhere. It is nothing more than a haven for drug taking/selling lazy drop outs who CHOOSE to live of the well being of others.

My experience here was that is was very calm and peaceful. Although I was advised not to visit at night, so I guess I can see how someone else might have a different experience.
