Maybe tomorrow!

That's the answer I give to people when they ask me when I'm leaving. At first I thought to stay only a few days, but like it here so much that I keep postponing my departure. The weather is really good, about 26 degrees daily, so spend lots of time in the sun, getting a brown tan. Taking a sauna every day, with a dip into the lake afterwards. Reading a book, writing my diary. You could say I am having a holiday while travelling!!

The people are really nice here, only Finnish people around, which I like very much cos it give me a good feel about the Finnish summer camping life, without all the international tourists running around. Chalom and Mörry treat me like a family member, letting me use all facilities, like the kitchen, fridge, washing machine etc. I also spend a lot of time with Virpi and Kari, a Finnish couple with 2 lovely kids. They take me sightseeing and I also visited their house. It's 100 years old, made of wood with the old heating system and oven still working. It's situated in the countryside, where they also have horses and a huge area of land. This is so much better then living in an appartment building, my opinion anyway!

Being introduced to an old Finnish game: Mölkky. It's a bit like jeu de boule and bowling but different! The aim of the game is to get 50 points, by throwing the wooden stick onto the standing ones. Hit one, you get the points mentioned on it, hit more, you only get the points equal to the number you knocked over. It not difficult to understand, but damn difficult to play as the stick seems to go where I don't want it to go!

Also heard about an international Honda Goldwing meeting taking place, so had to have a look of course. Great to see so many bikers together. Even spotted Dutch bikers. a Honda Goldwing is more like a car on 2 wheels with all the electronics and comforts on board. Too much for me though. Mine feels more like a bike to me.

Virpi and Kari also introduce me to all sorts of Finnish food. The bread with rice inside and an old East Finnish delicacy: dark bread with fish inside. And of course alcohol: Pete introduced me to Salmiakki vodka, very delicious!

Most likely I will be staying here till after the weekend as on Saterday there is a Pig Party in one of the towns nearby, which is so much as a party where all the people from the town and outside are invited to, while roasting a whole pig. Music and alcohol also present of course. And I am invited to join in. Friday: Karaoke night at the campsite, of course I will try my best on the Finnish songs ;-)

So, so far I am seeing a great deal of Herrasmani campsite and Lahti, with a possible change of seeing more of Finland afterwards haha
