After a few days at the resort, I decided to go to Tabor for the weekend. Roman has to work over the weekend and I love to go to this medieval festival I have read about before. Of course it is much more fun to go the festival with local people, so I try to get in contact with someone via Couchsurfing. Luckily for me Mike and Nicola react positively to my request. I can come and stay with them, they also like to go the festival! I decide to cycle to them, as I have it with me, might as well use it and good to do the exercise at well haha
They live about 20km from Tabor in a great 120-year old house. Well kind of camping inside as still many things need to be done. They only just have running water installed. But is is great place with lots of potential. The old windows and tiled floor are very characteristic. The new roof giving it its own style. They want to use as many sustainable products as possible, a good initiative! They have this great book called 'Self sufficiency'. I read it front to back twice. It tells you how to do things yourself, hence the title, e.g. making your own jam/bread, keeping a herb garden, amazing stuff that I feel connected to more and more. It may not happen for me now, but it will be part of how I want to live in the (near) future. Combining the things society can give me with life in a more natural environment. Nicola and I also try to make our own apple juice, using a big wooded bat to crush the apples and a hand-driven machine to take the juice out of it. Hugely labour intensive, but great fun to do and much more rewarding to drink this 100% bio juice afterwards!
That weekend Roman calls me, he had big argument with the owner of the resort about lots of things. The result: clash of egos and him being thrown out of the resort. Lots of little things triggered this, add to that a completely different view on life and the fact that Roman is not the type of person to work in a hierarchic work environment made it bound to happen one day. However the reason for this to happened now lies in the influence of another employee, being the bitch she is.
This is an unexpected change. What to do now?
We agreed I will come to resort on Tuesday to collect my things, leaving my bicycle at Mike and Nicola's place (which is not a problem at all luckily). Afer we go to his mother's place in Mlada Boleslav for few days, figuring things out. We can catch a lift with cars to move his things (including 6 drums!) All options open now!
Many ideas pass by during these days. For me it included staying in Czech in a rented cottage somewhere in nature, going back to Marburg, cycle to Vienna and go south, go back to Holland, but the one that appealed to me most: Going to Spain with Roman, visit his brother who lives there and his Rainbow friends, (learning how to) play the djembe, learning Spanish, greeting the sun and live in nature for a while. Roman also things about what he likes to do. Maybe a return to the resort is possible after talking to the owner's wife. If not, he will go to Spain. For me it is clear I would like to spend more time with him. But is he would return to the resort I do not know if I will go back with him. On Thursday we know that he cannot work at the resort anymore and by night we booked our flight to Malaga, with a new low cost airline: Smartwings. Flying one week later (25-9) will only cost us 117 euro each, not bad!
With us we will also take 5 drums, 2 of which I am buying from him. Finally owning my own Djembe and bass-drum, YIPPIE!!! And also taking my bicycle with me, only 35 euro to take on board! Always good to have my own transportation there! I am soooo looking forward to go there! Not that I wanna leave Czech, it is a great country to, getting into the language and habbits here! But there is the sun (31 degrees) waiting for us...
Before leaving the country we want to visit his father as well, so we have jus spend 4 days there as well. He lives in Prague, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe! At least to my opinion. Great to be back here again after I guess about 8 years. Almost forgot how beautiful it is. Friday we wanna go sightseeing, but a rainbow brother invites us for tea at his house...a van! But a very special one, as he has completely stripped the inside and made an organic wood interiour. The photos only give you a small idea, it looks soooo much more amazing! We spend all day there, drinking tea and talking. He is also an imazing photographer and can do magic on the computer, turning them into slideshows. On Saturday afternoon I go sightseeing by myself, just wandering around. I end up on the famous square, where this old Czech guy performs on the street. Amazing energy. I stay and sit with him for at least 2 hours. Then it is time to meet up with Roman and his father. We have food and the a good night out, going from pub to pub, enjoying live music concert on a square and end up on in a nightclub, dancing the night away! Lots of beer joining us, sleeping at...we really do not remember hahaha
These last days we spend sorting things out, what to take, how to take them, how to take it all to the airport. I also have to go back to Tabor to get my bicycle. And enjoying his mother's food in between. She is a really good cook! Getting to know many different Czech dishes, yummi! As I have to go to Tabor to get my bicycle I will not spend my last night at her place, so yesterday we had a good night out to say goodbye...playing darts, pool biljart and so on! Even met a mongolian guy in one of the places. Really funny, he was very surprised when I spoke something in his own language! Yes, my time in Czech has been great, but I had not doubts about that ;-)))
So people, my nex message will be coming from Spain....Hasta luego! ;-)))))
