Just when I made up my mind about going back to Yangon. Feeling I asked already more than enough time and energy of A Shin M. This man talks to us and tells us we can ride with him to Mawlamyine, a place south of Pha-An. In the area is also some great things to see.
After asking him several times and telling him it is oke if he doesn't want, I can go straight to Yangon, he tells me he will come with me.

So 2 hours later after an emotional but hasty goodbye to the people at the monestary we set off south. Sleeping is arranged and food is again specially prepared for me. I still cannot get used to this respectful treatment. The next day the driver takes all the time to show us around,  visiting Pa-Auk, the largest and most important meditation center of the country, going to Setse Beach and a monestary/shrine at the seaside. We stop at his house and the houses of his family, where I get offered food everytime. Burmese hospitality. Eventhough I am not hungry I know it is unpolite to refuse. Even eating a little is better then not at all. You can compare it with the biscuits served with tea/coffee, but then a bit more of it ;-)

My last evening I spend with lovely people at a nunnery. Teaching some nuns English and me learning some more Burmese words as well. I am able to have small conversation by now, if at least one of them speaks a few words of English to help out in need! I think this is a great way of ending my time in the West. Spending most of my time in/around monestaries, monks and religious sights.

The next day I am taking the bus back to Yangon, saying goodbye to A Shin M.. Strange to travel alone now after spending so much time together. I cannot thank him enough for what he has done for me. Hope to meet him in Bangkok before he goes back to Sri Lanka, if not, I still feel we will meet again some day, in this life or the next!!

M., Ayam Dje zu te maare! (thank you very much!)
