Four days left in America de Sur. I crave beach! Pedro and Jorge drop me off at the beach in Concon just north of Vina Del Mar. After an empanada and coffee (this is becoming a ritual) I walk on the beach, meditate, read my book and get a visit by a homeless pup who naps next to me. The sound of the ocean is soothing as I watch a surfer catch some waves. Waves are decent nothing special this day. I find myself wanting to be out in the water.
My next adventure back in Valarariso is dancing. Pedro, Jorge and I head out for a night on the town. Hollywood Dance Club. A big group of friends are out. Some try to speak English but its mostly Spanish speaking here in downtown Valapariso. Everyone seems to be interested in getting a piece of the gringa so I never stop dancing all night, fine with me. Here in Chile you don't enter the dance floor unless someone asks you to dance. We danced the traditional Chillean dance mostly except for the occasional "Twist" and "Rock around the clock". The crowd here is mostly 40+ except for me and my newfound friend Alex.
Alex was a pleasure to talk to and know. He lives an interesting life. Half French, half Spainard, grew up in Chile. Pro skateboarder. Gets paid to travel around the world and skate for Vans. Alex and I hit it off and dance the night away. The drama between the drunks and the hoochie mamas is quite entertaining all night. We return home at 4am. Good Night.
