We have been in the Sahara desert, near the border with Algeria, for the last 4 days - completely out of contact with the outside world. We were picked up off the bus in El Rashidia (sp?) by Hassan and Isham and taken to their camp way in the middle of nowhere. Its been a great way to discover inner calm with nothing but the desert around. I have slept under the stars for over a week now and loving it! I have also taken the time to (finally!) learn about tarot cards - pretty spooky at times, but the local Berbers have been impressed at my knowledge!!

There has been nothing around except for the sky, the sand, the sand dunes, the stars, the Berbers and their music. Many a night has been spent listening to the drums before going to sleep under the stars and waking with the sunrise.
We took the camels into an Oasis one night and slept next to one of the largest sand dunes around.
Finally today we made it into the closest town to continue on our journey.
Kirsty and I have decided to spend a few days apart and travel independently for the next week (and no, we haven't been fighting - nothing to worry about!). Destination: en shalla ('as god wills'). I sense another adventure about to unfold.
