Next the girls wanted to buy some leather shoes, so we spent almost 2 hours walking the shopping streets, in and out of stores to find the right pair. Had a quick lunch at Burger King, and purchased nuts from the roadside stalls to munch on.
Went to the handicrafts market after. The others bought stuff but I couldn't find much good items.
Went to grab a burger for dinner, and walked back to the hostel. Passed by a nice cafe so we went in for a cheesecake and chocolate cake. Tasted surprisingly good by Chilean standards. Walked to emperio rosa gelato shop after to get some of the famous icecream for the last time.
Watched perks of being a wallflower at the hostel, before the cab picked us up at 8pm and sent us to the airport.
When we went to check in at the counter, the lady told me I hadn't 'confirmed' my flight and was to be put on standby. Like what?!?! I made the booking, it was confirmed, and paid the amount. Totally ridiculous. At least she told us we would be flying definitely but have to wait till 10pm to get our boarding passes.
We walked to get some wifi at Dunkin donuts, where we bumped into the same service lady who told us we could check in now (right after she told us no at the counter), so we brought all the luggages back to the counter to check in. It was retarded but at least our seats were confirmed and we were going home. Seeing the weight of our baggages, I purchased an extra of 20kg for the scoot flight.
There wasn't much duty free shopping to do. The prices for postcards and key chains was so high at the airport!
We bought the aircraft at 10.30pm, and was due to fly at 11. But after moving out of the terminal, we were told there was some technical fault in the plane and we had to change aircraft (luckily they found out in time). So we had to stay at the transit area till around 2am before we boarded the next plane, and flew at 3am, a 4 hour delay!
