Left Copacabana for La Paz at 1.30pm. It was supposed to be a tourist only bus but it seemed the driver sold the other seats to locals which delayed our bus and left the bus packed. Around an hour or so in, we had to disembark of the bus, buy a ticket to cross the channel to the other side, and a passport check. That took around 30 minutes to complete, which was dumb since they could have just built bridges across the channel for vehicles.

Arrived at La Paz around 5, and took a cab to our hostel: Loki Hostel. This is a hostel chain and my impression of it hit rock bottom the moment we arrived. They gave away our reserved beds even though we confirmed we would be arriving. They eventually put us in a small room with 8 beds, far away from the wifi zone.

We went out to get dinner but as it was a Sunday, almost everywhere was closed. We managed to find a few restaurants but it was obvious they were made for tourists at those prices. We found a Chinese restaurant called Jackie Chan and went in to have our meals. The servings were big, and cooked well. We soon discovered the owners came from fujian as well!

Went back to the hostel to find the bar area packed: music blasting and disco lights spinning. Stayed awhile to watch some pool action before going to rest.

In the meantime, also decided to check out of this hostel even though we have reservation for 4 nights. My Swiss friend max found a hostel at half the price and much better amenities. Will be moving there tomorrow!
