Got up early at 5am. Packed our bags and left with a taxi to the São Paulo international airport at 5.30. The fare was R$102(US$50) by the meter, more than the prepaid 97 on our way into the city, which was surprising as there wasn't a jam.

Our TAM plane took off at 8.30am, and we arrived after 5 hours at 12pm(Lima local time). Had some rest on the plane, and watched frost-Nixon. Good show.

Took the official airport taxi to our hostel (65soles=us25). The driver got lost halfway, and we had to call up the hostel guy. Luckily all went well and we reached after an hour.

This hostel is owned by a nice guy called Marco. It's essentially his own house, with 3 rooms which he let out as dorms. Everything was speck and clean. Liked the place the moment I stepped in, makes you feel at home right away.

Su lost her folder so we set off to a nearby neighborhood to get passport photos for the visa. We were hungry and stopped by a restaurant as recommended by Marco for lunch. We ordered a 5 serving Ceviche platter, a famous Peruvian seafood salad with raw fish, squid, prawns and scallops. Tasted amazing. Light and tangy lemon juice made the entire cold dish taste even fresher.

After getting the photo, we walked to the supermarkets several streets down to buy groceries and bus tickets for Nazca. The supermarket was called Wong, and we inferred that a Chinese might just have opened it. There was expensive Chinese imports at one section of the upscale supermarket.

Went back to hostel and had some cheap laundry done across the street (3soles per kg).

Gonna head for the Bolivia embassy and central district tomorrow!
