Before heading to the Corvovado summit, the tour bus took us to a mirador midway where there were good views of the Rio Bay Area and the Redeemer.
Redeemer was very bit as huge as seen in photos. It was truly hard to get a proper shot with it, not to mention the huge flock of tourists around us all trying to get their pictures taken
There was a good view of the Bay Area from the balcony. Clear skies made the entire landscape postcard worthy.
We had a quick lunch and proceeded to take the bus back to Copacabana. We changed buses there to line 511, towards to sugar loaf mountains as the weather was clear today. The entrance price here was far more expensive at 53 reals. Probably due to the fact that we had to use cable cars to get up.
There were two mountains at Sugar Loaf. The first cable car ride took us to the shorter one, and the second ride took us right to the summit of the taller one. Great views of the cityscape from the Sugar Loaf. Could see the Redeemer amongst the mountain ranges behind the city. To the left were the coastline of Copacabana beach as well.
We stayed till sunset, and enjoyed the view at its full glory. The sky had a red-orange hue to it. The city lights soon went up, presenting yet another wonderful landscape of the city.
Being satisfied with the views, we left the sugar loaf and took a bus back to the hostel.
Looking forward to a good day at the beach tomorrow!
