Got up early for the wholesome breakfast prepared at Yagenhouse, before heading off to the bus terminal for our 7.30 bus for El Calafate, Argentina.

Arrived at the border a little before 8 and the customs were still closed. It wasn't a long wait before the officers arrived, and we were soon on our way.

The bus arrived at 1, taking around 6 hours, with numerous stops along the way as ice froze over the glass panes and obstructed the views of the driver. The landscape was white throughout the ride, and it was snowing as we arrived in El Calafate.

Took our French friends' recommendation to come to the America Del Sur hostel. Nice hostel with central heating, and looked more like a mountain lodge than common hostels.

Argentinian economy is kinda screwed as they artificially fix its exchange rate through legal control measures, leading to black markets in the country wanting to purchase foreign dollars. The official rate is 5.2 pesos per dollar, but the 'blue' market rate is at 9.1 pesos per dollar. Our friends came us a location to exchange blue dollars in the capital buenos Aires, but we didn't had this luxury here in this small town.

Walked the streets and eventually found a travel agency who exchanged their pesos with us at a 6.2 rate. We exchanged just enough for the next couple of days, to survive us till we can get our hands on some blue rates.
