Sodwana Bay is very famous for its beautiful wild beach and nice diving spots.

The beach IS beautiful but we arrived there during a cold front and stayed in a rough guesthouse with little space protected from the wind... brrrrr. But the owner, John, was really cool, he was preparing a bonfire and a joint for us every night while telling his own backpacking stories in Africa!

The beach could also be a lot more beautiful if they were not allowing 4x4 to drive on the beach! This really surprised me: the whole coast is protected, you pay an entrance fee to enter the nature reserve, the beach is preserved... and those horrible 4x4 distort the landscape, just to allow people to fish directly from the beach without too much effort... South Africa and its paradox.

Due to the cold front, our dives were not as good as in Durban, but the conditions were unusual.

After a few days there, Michael and I headed to Kosi Bay, another protected reserve, right at the border of Mozambique. Cool day in the nature reserve.
