Where I stayed
What I did
There was a long drive ahead so first things first, breakfast. We ate at a proper American diner, I had my coffee poured for me at the table like in the movies and could have had it 'refilled' several times but decided to be good. That good effore was undone when I ordered the breakfast of hashbrowns (which was shredded potato) susuages, egg and a MASSIVE blueberry muffin covered in cinnamon which is possibly the best muffin I have ever had.
Herbert Hoover was quite an awesome guy, he wanted to build a dam which would supply water primarily but also generate electricity that could be sold. It took 5 years to build, which was 2 years ahead of the schedule. Not only was the dam built but a town needed to be built aswell to house the workers, along with shops, schools etc. It is amazing. If you want to read more about it have a looksy here.
On the way to the town of Flagstaff we stopped in Williamson which is on Route 66. We chose another american style diner to eat in. There was an amazing list of banana splits, sundaes, milkshakes and more that were so very hard to resist.
It was a long day driving from A-B-C, the time has flown by.
