Hi, Everybody! :)

Gee, I gotta say I sure am tired but happy after a fun action packed day with Kacie's Aunt Stef in New Braunfels Texas.  Did you all know that New Braunfels not only has one but two cool rivers!  They also have a waterpark here!  I LOVE this town!

Ms. Stef woke me up first thing in the morning for some yummy breakfast on her patio that has a neat view of the Comal River.  I had to eat fast though because General Choo the Dog is known to try and eat your food if you aren't looking (he really IS a dog that would eat your homework!).

The breakfast had to be light because we were off to run a 5K called the Dos Rios 5K.  I even learned spanish! Do you know what Dos Rios means in English?  It means two rivers!  We ran from the Guadalupe River all the way to the Comal River AND back which was about 3.1 MILES!  whew!  Don't worry though, we had a fun team to run with:  Stef, Headband Zach, Ted, and Faith...the cool little girl with the pigtails.  Faith just turned 7 and ran the whole 5k with us! She was a GREAT teammate if you want to know the truth!

Next we got to play and walk through Landa Park with General Choo the Dog!  Play time is so much fun and a fun way to get exercise, don't you think?!  Ms. Stef even pushed me on the swings!  After that we were able to rest and ride the Landa Choo Choo Train all the way through Landa Park to look at all the beautiful animals that play in the park every day!  We saw squirrels, wild Texas Turkeys, Cranes, and even some other doggies that were out for their exercise!

I met some ducks that live near Ms.Stef's house.  They are a little family named the Pato family.  Pato is the spanish word for duck.   The Pato family loves eating bread crumbs.  They told us to visit them tomorrow for some fun time outside.  I can't wait to see them again tomorrow!

After that, we decided to rest and spend sometime at the local library.  I tried to go wearing a disguise, but I guess my sunglasses didn't work too well.  I was spotted right away and the librarian asked me to read a Flat Stanley Book.  After that, Ms. Stef and I read some more in the library.

Since dogs aren't allowed in the New Braunfels Public Library, by the time we got back General Choo the Dog was ready for his exercise. General Choo the Dog's best friend is Sadie the Dog and he was excited to meet her at their local hangout, the Doggie Park; so we went to the Dog Park for some playtime.  It was pretty hot out, so we made sure to bring lots of water for everyone and I got to meet some other people and dogs from the
neighborhood.

Have you ever played kickball?  Well Ms. Stef and Headband Zach LOVE to play kickball!  In fact, they love it so much that they play it once a week with their friends.  I was able to play with them with a team shirt and everything.  The kickball was BIG and it was hard for me to catch, but good thing I'm a great runner!  We played against another team and lost; but that is okay! Sports are not just about winning all the time but even just playing and making new friends while getting great exercise!

Before I fell asleep last night I noticed how many people I met in just one day and how great I felt even though I was tired.  Exercise helped me see New Braunfels in a fun way while making friends and staying healthy from the inside out.  I exercised in so many different ways: Running the Dos Rios 5k, Playing at the Playground, walking General Choo the Dog in Landa Park and playing with him in the doggie park, and even playing Kickball with new friends.   I also got to exercise my mind at the New Braunfels Public Library! I hope today you find a fun way to exercise and make new friends like I did!  Have fun exercising, friends!
