The Great Ocean Road was some drive!!! See loads of cliffs.... the vast ocean, stacks, arches, huge white crashing foaming waves and the sea looked well inviting was a cool blue turquiose colour, i still wouldnt be up for a swim though as the water is pretty baltic and theres a possibility of a shark getting a hold of us! Theres loads of viewing points all the way along the road and you pass by small little fishing villages and towns, we stopped off by the 12 apostles which are just stacks of rock standing alone in the ocean, we did learn about some early ninteenth century boats that crashed around the loch ard gorge area, these ships were actually heading from britain and they got caught in the mist and their ninteenth centurty gps wasnt working and they smashed into the cliffs! Everyone lost their lives... no wonder the waves look mad smashng up agaisnt the cliffs absouley no chance of getting out of that!

The road just keeps going along the coast line and it does a small de tour in land a little and you end up driving through the thick forest, the road here is just like a rollercoaster its up down, left right for a moment you think you were driving up the west somewhere back home! Good job i was driving as i would have gotten terrible car sick! Danielle was fine though apart from a wee sore head, After about 50k or this you eventually come to Apollo Bay, the view here coming into the town was really nice, and once your in Apollo Bay you are back right on the coast.... We just stopped a fueled up and carried on along the coast to a place called Lorne, the road again after here was really windy, some corners you had to slow down to 20k, and a section along here reminded me of portmahomack for some reason!! lol The ocean road ended for us at Geelong and we made it to Numpty's house in Melbourne :)
