We visited Kathrine gorge today, it was some struggle getting the 3 of us and all our stuff into the car but we all managed to squeeze in! Kathrine was about 300k from darwin, we did it in around 3 hours, we arrived mid afternoon and setup our tents and went for a swim in the gorge, the water feels cold at first but once your in its grand!

At night time we had to collect loads of firewood and we started a big fire, we cooked on a hot plate over the embers, the meal turned out great :) and where i drained the rice when it got dark these wallabys came over to check it out... they came right up close about 2m away! and through the night you could hear them sniffing around the tent, next day we woke up with the sun and got ready for our canoe trip up the gorge. We had to wear a life jacket each, got issued a paddle and me and danielle shared a canoe and tania had her own single one, was all good canoeing up but it became hard work in the end specially when you stop to take a break and the your canoe goes backwards the way you came spinning round in circles! had to constantly keep paddling to get anywhere my shoulders were falling off me by the end of it lol we didnt see any crocs at all in here so maybe that was a good thing tho we did see the crocs nesting areas so they were in there somehwere..........
