Arrived in Kakadu National park on Wednesday evening and stayed in a campsite there. Me and Dave went on a tour around Jim jim falls and twin falls in the park the following day which meant getting up at 6.30am. Luke stayed in bed which seemed like the better idea at the time. However I'm glad I actually motivated myself to go because it was the most awesome sights I've seen in Australia so far.

Once we arrived at Jim Jim falls we had to climb down into the canyon. When we got there we swam in the pool at the bottom of the waterfall and a there was also a mini beach which was random when you think you're actually in the middle of the outback. Crocodiles are native to this part of Australia and there were warning signs everywhere we went about not getting to close to the water as people have been killed here before. I would have been happy to spend the whole day at Jim Jim falls but when we got to Twin falls it was so much better again. We had to cross a flooded road in the 4WD and then get a boat to the waterfalls. You weren't allowed to swim in the water at twin falls because of crocodiles. Although throughout the whole day we only saw one baby croc. Twin falls has a pool at the bottom of the waterfall with lush golden sand surrounded by the gorge walls. For anyone who is going to North Australia it is definitely worth seeing Kakadu even if its just a day trip.

We left Kakadu on Friday. On the way out we stopped off and saw some aboriginal art work on the rocks which were thousands of years old. Another reminder of how vast Australia is, this "park" is actually roughly the same size as Wales. Arrived in Katherine yesterday and had a wash in the thermal baths and spent the night in a caravan park.

Tomorrow we are going Kaiyaking down the 13 gorges around Katherine
