Yesterday we drove around Darwin and ended up stumbling across the casino (what were the chances) which is about a two minute walk from the beach in a place called Fannie bay. Spent most of the day on the beach and by the pool in the casino. Then me and Dave went and had a bit of a flutter on Blackjack, money well spent there.

Figured we would be able to spend the night in the casino car park after our hefty donation but the security guards had other ideas. Haven't actually been able to stay in a town or city without getting moved on/moaned at by rangers, security guards or other campers since leaving Perth. Beginning to just except it now everywhere we turn up. The funny thing is we haven't had any bother from the cops in all the time we've been in Australia. Not that we should have because we haven't actually done anything wrong although beginning to think that wanting to get a good night's sleep is a crime. So this time we drove down the road to a caravan park and parked in the car park for the night. We had to be up by 8 this morning to take the van in for a service and get some new tires otherwise we would have no doubt gotten woken up and kicked out of there as well. Planning on leaving Darwin later on today and heading to the Kakadu national park. Will update next time we reach civilisation.
