This will be my last night in south East Asia where I've been just over two months now and will definitely be back one day. There are only two things that I'll be glad to leave behind. The first is the fucking mosquitos which haven't been a problem in Singapore and the second is the humidity and constant sweating everywhere I go, you think I'd be used to the heat by now but pretty sure I'd never get used to it although its a good place to come if you want to sweat some weight off!

Yesterday I dug my trainers out of my bag which I haven't worn since landing in Bangkok because we were told you couldn't wear sandals into the Raffles hotel. Turns out you could. Being such a posh place it did seem strange for the floor to be covered in nut shells, although the price for a drink didn't surprise at 20 dollars each (about 7 quid). Afterwards we met some guy who lived in Singapore all his life who spent a few hours telling us all about Singapore. He told us about how everyone has to do at least two years in the national service at some point. I almost fainted at the thought of being forced to spend two years of being told what to do and realised how easy we had it growing up in the UK. After our two hour education on Singapore we went to watch England get knocked out the world cup on penalties which sucked. It seems most people in Singapore also support England because it used to be a British colony and they all watch the premiership. Then I found out that I give off some kind of vibe to stop taxi's from picking us up. After two taxi's pulled up and then drove off when I opened the door, Luke flagged one down straight away and I half expected the guy to change his mind when I got in the back seat.

Today we've just been bumming around the hostel. Our five hour flight to Perth leaves 9.30am tomorrow, so should arrive in Australia about 2.30 pm where we're planning to meet up with Dave (mate from Uni). Another country, another continent... will let you all know when we arrive.
