I spent yesterday (Sunday) with two friendly Japanese girls who showed me the sights of Hiroshima. I met Michiko and her sister on Saturday night in an Irish bar called Molly Malones. However Michiko`s sister had to work yesterday, so Michiko said she would give me a guided tour with her friend Kaiko. She clearly didn't want to have to put up with me a whole day by herself. When I met them they said they could only speak a little English however they were practically fluent. Either that or they were nodding a lot at whatever it was I was going on about. We went to Miyajima to see the floating shrine and then Hiroshima castle. Then on the evening they showed me how to eat proper Japanese style where you cook the meat on a stove in the middle of the table. I went to a place like it once before in Osaka, but confirmed what I already knew, that I cant cook. But did surprise myself by managing to not give myself food poisoning. So it was quite handy to have some Japanese people who could order the food and knew what to do with it, rather than me just fumbling through by pointing at random items on the menu and copying what other people do at their tables.

This morning I left the hotel and went to the peace memorial museum where I saw some tragic pictures of the city after the A-bomb was dropped in 1945. Of course I didn't take any pictures because I no longer have my crap expensive camera. Infact I now know I`m doing something drastically wrong because the camera on my phone is now broke. Its probably something to do with the cheap adaptors I bought off the internet for over here.

As for today and where to go from here I don't have any plans, but thats what I love about travelling. Its the randomness and freedom of it all. You never know where your going to end up next or who with.
